André Fourçans is Professor of monetary economics and macroeconomics at the ESSEC Business School in Paris. He earned Ph.D. in economic sciences from the University of Paris, a doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from the Indiana University and MBA from the University of Illinois. His main research interests are in monetary economics, macroeconomics, European and international economics, taxation, climate change. He was three terms member of the European Parliament, member of the Economic and Social Council of France, 1994-1999, Visiting Professor at the Carnegie-Mellon University, monetary expert for the European Commission, Special Advisor to the Commissioner in Charge of Taxation, European Commission, 1990-1993, etc. He also served as Associate Editor of the Global Economy Journal, since 2005, member of the Brussels’ Initiatives Group in 2002, Editor of the European Business and Economic Development, since 1992, and as a member of the Editorial Board of Open Economies Review.
