How to get to Livorno and the conference venue

The conference will take place at the “Polo Universitario Sistemi Logistici” Villa Letizia - Via dei Pensieri, 60 - 57128 Livorno (Italy). It is in the Ardenza neighborhood of Livorno, along the seaside.

Livorno is on the Tyrrhenian coast of Italy, at about half an hour (both by car and by train) from Pisa.

If you are flying to Italy, in order to get to Livorno you can consider landing at:

  • “Galileo Galilei” Pisa Airport (it takes 5 minutes to go with the “Pisa Mover” to Pisa Centrale Railway station and from there, as already mentioned, it takes about half an hour to get to Livorno. You may also consider going directly from Pisa airport to Livorno by taxi, at a cost that should be approx. 60-70€, while it will be a few euros for each local train/shuttle/bus you take in case you use public transportation.
  • “Amerigo Vespucci” Florence Peretola airport (it takes about 15 minutes to go with the “Tranvia” from Peretola airport to the Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station, and from there about 1 and half hours to get to Livorno).
  • “Leonardo da Vinci” Rome Fiumicino airport (It takes about half an hour to get from Fiumicino Airport to Roma Termini train station, and then about 2 and half hours by train from Roma Termini train station to Livorno).

In all cases there will be a shuttle/bus/train taking you from the airport to the train station of the place where you decide to land (in Pisa it is called “Pisa Mover”, in Florence is “La Tranvia”), and from there you can head to Livorno by train.

Once at Livorno train station, unless you want to take a taxi, whose cost might be even 20 euros fr a urban ride, you can take the “LAM BLU” bus, going towards the neighborhoods of Ardenza and Antignano, along the seaside, where the hotels are distributed and where Villa Letizia is also located. The cost of the ticket is €1.50 if you buy in advance at a kiosk, and €2.50 if you buy it on board.

More precisely, Villa Letizia is at a distance of 500 meters, 6 minutes on foot, from the bus stop “Italia 15”, if you are on the bus going from the railway station in South direction, and from the bus stop “Italia 6” if you are on the opposite side of the street, in the bus going North, namely towards the railway station.
